Västerås 1-2 July 2006

This was the first event for the car after we got it home from USA.The picture on the right is the very first one with all the body panels mounted and painted beautiful green. The car has only been in Sweden for 2 weeks now and still there is chassies inspection to be done before we can enter the track. The event did not bring any time slips to write about, instead we got down the track and more to work on. And after the weekend we actually managed to get some sleep as well.

 

Säve July 2006

Gothenburg Dragracing Festival July 2006, here we had only racing to focus on. And of course a shift cable getting jammed and messing up a day for us. And photografers making comments like, do you know how long your car is?

This was the first event where we took the car down 1/4-mile. And once we got the ignition set right we even got close to the top speed we wanted.

Veidec Festival, Mantorp Park 2006

This was only the third event we raced with the car. And by now the single carburetor was replaced with a dual setup. This change managed to lower the scoop a bit for better look.

Veidec Festival was this seasons most successful event, we were among the last 8 of a field of 44 cars, and also the first event where the car started to perform the way we want it to.

But going home from the event we where a bit worried since we had ruined 14 of our set of 16 exhaust springs, and only 5 days to Gardemoen.

Gardemoen, Norway August 2006

Gardemoen, Norway the first weekend of August 2006. We ran the car without limiters for the first time and managed a new personal best in every qualifying round. For the burnout on the left we got a huge cheer from the crowd. We also managed to get the car to hook up much more than before so the search for traction changed to the search for less lift, and the picture below shows that we are still working on it. Best ET 7.05. The spring issues we had the week before was solved with a new set of springs without defects and we have not changed one since. And the oil leak that made us use diapers for every single round was also found. This made a very happy mechanic / oil cleaner crew.

Winternationals, Meca Raceway, Malmö

Winternationals, Malmö in the middle of September 2006, the car performed just brilliant and after making a few adjustments this years best time was recorded with a 4.42 in the 1/8 mile. This also made us aware how to tune the car, such a pity that it was the last event for 2006, but in 2007 then......

This picture is all about riding into the sunset and almost ending the season in the same way a good western movie ends. But the crew chief standing behind do look a bit tense.
